MISSION STATEMENT
United in our love for Christ and His Word, our mission is to glorify God by presenting every person spiritually mature in Christ.

VISION STATEMENT
We will accomplish this mission by focusing on six biblical activities: worship and prayer, evangelism, discipleship, ministry,  and fellowship.
Worship
Worship is a lifestyle of sacrifice in loving response to our gracious, holy God. Worship is an individual as well as church-wide commitment. We worship corporately by exalting Christ in our services.
Prayer
Prayer is quite simply talking to God. We want to come to God individually and corporately by expressing adoration, confession, thanksgiving, and requests to Him.
Evangelism
Evangelism is communicating the "good news" or "Gospel" to every person. We are committed to taking the good news locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally.
Discipleship
Discipleship is the process by which the character of Jesus Christ is developed in us. We engage in discipleship by studying the Bible and praying daily, serving consistently, giving sacrificially, and living faithfully to God.
Ministry
Ministry is our commitment to serve the spiritual, physical, and emotional needs of those around us as our Lord directs.
Fellowship
Fellowship is the spiritual connection that we have in Christ which enables us to have deep and fulfilling connections with other believers in Christ. Genuine fellowship leads us closer to Christ and His Word.
MEMBERSHIP AT FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH OF WINTER HAVEN
A two-hour prospective members class is required for any person interesting church membership. A person may attend the prospective members class with "no strings attached." An opportunity to commit to membership in the First Family comes after the class. One may indicate an interest in the class by contacting the office by email, phone, or in person; by indicating his/her interest on the Connection Slip of the Sunday morning bulletin; or by responding during the Song of Response at the end of a service. After completing the class, a person may be received into membership in the following ways . . .

By a public profession of faith in, and commitment to Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, followed by baptism by immersion.

By request for believer's baptism: Upon public reaffirmation of faith in, and commitment to Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord and in agreement with beliefs about salvation and baptism as described in The Baptist Faith and Message.

"Christian baptism is the immersion of a believer in water in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit; It is an act of obedience symbolizing the believer's faith in a crucified, buried, and risen Savior, the believer's death to sin, the burial of the old life, and the resurrection to walk in newness of life in Christ Jesus; It is a testimony to his faith in the final resurrection of the dead.  Being a church ordinance, it is prerequisite to the privileges of church membership and to the Lord's Supper." (The Baptist Faith and Message Article VII, Section 1, Baptism.)

By letter of transfer from another Baptist church: Upon public reaffirmation of faith in, and commitment to Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.

By public statement of salvation and baptism in a church of like faith: Upon public reaffirmation of faith in, and commitment to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

In Absentia: Upon reaffirmation of faith in, and commitment to Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. A person providentially hindered from attending worship service in person my request membership by any way the church accepts a candidate for membership.

Watchcare may be granted active members of Baptist churches who temporarily reside in the community, but who, because of circumstances, maintain their membership in their home state. Such affiliation shall automatically cease should the residence become permanent or the circumstances preventing transfer of full membership be removed. A person under watchcare could present themselves for full membership at any worship service.
